The four towers of the Alcazar have been constantly renovated. Three of the four Alcázar towers are linked via protected crenelated battlements. These are built with ashlar masonry with spaces left to form the crenelations. The towers are, beginning from the northwest, the Lions’ Tower with a square floor-plan and an inner hall covered with an octagonal groin vault; the Tribute Tower, in the northeast corner, with an octagonal floor-plan in the ground floor and a hexagonal layout on the first floor; The only battlement that can be crossed today is that which links the Tower of the Lions with the Tower of Homage; the Tower of the Pigeon, in the southwest corner, reconstructed following a square floor-plan in the middle of the 20th century and the Tower of the Inquisition, in the southeast corner, with a circular floor-plan at the base and a polygonal shape on the outside.
