The decorative motif of this Roman period mosaic is made up of secant circles forming four-petaled roses in a black frame. The motif of the little roses was a common one in the Roman architecture.
The design features bone-coloured tones in the background and black tessarea. Similar designs have been found at Casa del anfiteatro de Mérida and in the well-known mosaic of Cabañas de las Sagras (Toledo). Others have been found outside of Spain in Athens, Calais and Antioquia.
